Bill Russell To Jayson Tatum: ‘Keep Up the Hard Work!’

Jayson Tatum hit the 30-point mark for the fourth consecutive game Monday on the way to leading the Boston Celtics to a 108-90 win over the Houston Rockets. The hot streak has earned Tatum some high praise from arguably the greatest Celtic of all time, Bill Russell.

Russell witnessed Tatum dropping 37 points when they beat the Lakers, 130,108, in TD Garden, and have won six of their last eight and last three contests after adding wins against the Thunder and the Rockets, as mentioned earlier. Tatum seemed to appreciate the shout-out from Russell, tweeting this response to the 11-time champ.

After struggling with cold shooting in the first 14 games of the season, Tatum has turned the corner, shooting a paltry 38.6 percent from the field. Since then, Tatum has knocked down 50 percent of shots in the last four contests and is now scoring 33.5 points and is grabbing 8.5 rebounds per game in that same span.

After shooting just 38.6% from the floor over his first 14 games, Tatum has knocked down 50% of his shots in three of his last four contests, averaging 33.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game in that span.

After a shaky start to the season, the Celtics are regaining much of their health with the return of Jaylen Brown and Robert Williams from injury. Combined with the regained shooting touch of Tatum, Boston is primed to gain momentum and establish itself as a significant threat in the Eastern Conference.
