Since the NBA All-Star break, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been one of the best teams in the league. They’ve got the NBA’s best record since that milestone, going 11-2 and posting the best offensive rating (121.8) of any team.
During its recent stretch of success, Minnesota has emerged as a legitimate contender in the West and has the chance to avoid the play-in tournament. With a record of 42-30, the Timberwolves are on the cusp of taking over the sixth seed in the conference outright.
This has resulted in the team playing with a ton of confidence, with Towns leading the team on both ends of the floor.
“Any time we step on the court, we should win. Simple as that. There’s no excuse. We don’t feel that we should lose to anybody. We feel we can beat anybody. So, every time we walk into the arena, we feel we should win,” Towns told reporters on Friday.
The Timberwolves are a team that nobody should feel comfortable matching up with in the first round of the playoffs. In the NBA, it’s all about getting hot at the right time.
Down the final stretch of the season, Minnesota has looked like one of the best teams in the league.
